Hi everyone,
NITIE is not a household name like IIT's and NIT's. But the people who do know the name, know its value. The first time I came to know about NITIE was from my friend in Infosys.
First Try (2019):
After securing a good score in GATE 2019, the first shortlist was from NITIE. I went through the details given by them, went through previous year interview experiences, GD details etc. from internet and prepared to a good extent.
I reached the college in the morning and reached the administration hall where instructions were provided. Then we were ushered to the GD room. The GD topic was on Demonetisation. The discussion went good. I pitched in 3-4 good points and everything went smooth. Then I attended the interview. I was asked questions about my project initially and the questions went to mechanical engineering. No personal questions were asked. I wasn't able to answer a few questions. But as soon as the interview went over, I felt it could have gone better.
Finally the result came up and I was NOT selected.
Online Interview:
Again, I applied for NITIE in 2020. This time, it was in the middle of a pandemic. I thought the interview process will be delayed by a few months. But fortunately, NITIE had decided to go with an online interview. Clear instructions were given about how the online exam would be conducted. The exam didn't involve an interviewer. The questions were asked on the screen and the responses were recorded live.
This time I felt the need to prepare some covid related questions. Especially, NITIE being a great place for Supply Chain Management ,I prepared for how Covid 19 affected Indian supply chain in various sectors. And guess what, it worked. They asked questions about similar events which I was well versed. And I got a few other questions which I was able to manage upto a good extent.
Selection:
This time I was sure I would get a course like PGDMM or PGDPM. But when I saw the result, I was shocked. I got into PGDIE, the flagship program of NITIE.
I thought the pandemic would end soon. But it has been 5 months since. The classes started at the end of July and the inauguration ceremony. The classes started it has been 5 weeks since. Though online classes produce challenges of its own, I was able to manage everything to a great extent.

Yehh..Congratulations!
